June 2, 1933-The Thayer baseball team beat St. Michael's of Brattleboro, Vermont 9-8. The Thayer Revue reports that there were seventeen errors and thirty hits in the game. During the game, a Thayer runner was forced out at third base, but the umpire ruled that he was safe. The St. Michael's coach refused to allow his team to continue the game if the umpire did not reverse his call, which he did. Frank Dominick hit a triple in the eleventh inning to score Roger Dubriske with the game winning run. Chet Kingsman went the distance and was the winning pitche. Ken Noseck did the catching.
June 4, 1946-The Thayer baseball team wins at home against Hinsdale 4-0.
June 7, 1954-The Thayer baseball team beat Vilas 13-1 in the first round of the Class C State Tournament at Alumni Field in Keene.
June 9, 1949-The Thayer baseball team won at Northfield 11-2. Bob Barden hit a home run and a triple. Jack Swett made a beautiful catch of a line drive in left field.
June 9, 1998-Former varsity softball, basketball, and volleyball player Colleen Lee dies as a result of an automobile accident. She was 21 years old.
June 10, 1954-In the second round (semi-final) of the Class C baseball tournament, Ed Flory hit a grand slam against Enfield and Thayer won 10-9. The game was played at Claremont. Thayer was coached by Phil Hyde.
June 12, 1954-The Thayer boys baseball team won the state championship by beating Stratford 7-6 at Claremont. Leftfielder Eddie DeTour cleared the bases with a double in the first inning and drove in the winning run. Third baseman Bruce Jones was 2 for 3 and batted .455 for the tournament. Shortstop Joe Nadeau was 3 for 3 with three runs scored. Bob Qualters was 2 for 4 and also scored three runs. Ed Flory also had two hits. Pitcher John DeTour struck out ten and walked one batter. The championship is the only state championship won by a Thayer boys team.
