Feb 1, 1933-Boys tied Walpole 24-24. Francis Barden and Ken Wasileski were held out of the game because of poor grades. At the end of the 2nd period, Chet Kingsman made a “freak basket” after the timer's whistle blew, but before the referee blew his whistle. The referee counted the basket, and when the game ended, Thayer believed that they had won 26-24. Some time after the game, it was determined that the basket should not have counted and that the final score would be a tie. As a result the boys' record after that game was 3-3-1.

Feb 2, 1951-The Thayer girls won at Powers 28-3. The three Powers points were scored on free throws. Christina “Dodo” Rau was high scorer with 11. The girls record improved to 11-4-1 over all and to 7-0 in the King Philip League. The Thayer boys beat Powers 51-37. Thayer led 22-4 after one period. Bob Kibbe and Earl Nelson each scored 15 points. The boys' record improved to 10-6.

Feb 3, 1934-The Thayer boys beat Powers Institute of Bernardston, MA 26-11. Joe Zabielski scored 11 for Thayer, and Adams scored 7 for Powers.

Feb 5, 1936-The Thayer boys beat St. Michael's of Brattleboro, VT 18-17. The Thayer team was coached by Albert C. Cook, a former Mass Agricultural College (now UMass-Amherst) football captain.

Feb 6, 1931-The Thayer boys beat Keene Business Institute 11-3. Manager Wayne Grupe wrote, “Thayer and Keene met for a game under difficulties, as a suitable place to play was not available. The periods were cut short and a the end of the half thayer led 8-0." The team was coached by Ernest Barnes. AND Feb 6, 1951-The Thayer girls won at Hinsdale 33-12. That made their season record now 13-4-1. Christina “Dodo” Rau scored scored 15 and Carol Caban scored 13. The Thayer girls finished the King Philip LeaguePL season with a perfect 8-0 recored. Thayer played in the Western Division of the KPL along with Hinsdale, Charlemont, Northfield, and Powers Institute. The boys also won 51-32. Bob Kibbe scored 14, Earl Nelson scored 11, and George Thompson scored 10.

Feb 7, 1935-Thayer Coach Ernest Edward Barnes died at the age of 30.

Feb 8, 1933-Thayer beat St. Michael's 36-27 at the Town Hall in Winchester. Francis Barden and Ken Wasileski returned to the line-up after missing the February 1st Walpole game because of difficulties with grades.

Feb 9, 1934-The Thayer boys won at Troy 29-15. Team captain Francis Barden scored 12 points.AND Feb 9, 1949-The Thayer boys won a home game 61-41 against St. Michael's of Brattleboro, VT.

Feb 10, 1950-The Thayer girls beat Powers Institute in Winchester 17-5 improving to 11-1-1. Powers entered the game undefeated, but they scored only two points in the first half and three points in the second half. Shirley Brayman scored 10 of the 17 Thayer points. The only Thayer loss that season was to Powers on Jan 6. The boys also won 38-24. Wally “Dutch” Schultz scored 16 and Dick Sederstrom scored 13.

Feb 11, 1954-The Thayer boys won their last game of the season at Charlemont, MA 62-38. They finished the season a perfect 17-0. Later, the NHIAA ruled that Thayer would forfeit their games because Thayer administration did not complete the necessary paperwork to make Ed Flory eligible when he transferred from Northfield-Mt. Herman.

Feb 12, 1923-Thayer High School opened for the first day with students in classes.

Feb 13, 1931-Thayer beat Powers Institute 35-17. “Billie” Jones sprained his ankle during the game, and he missed the last basketball game and the entire baseball season. The Thayer 2nd's beat the Powers 2nd's 26-5.

Feb 14, 1933-The Thayer boys beat Walpole 42-33. Francis Barden and team captain Brony Noseck each scored 14 points.

Feb 15, 1955-The boys won at Troy 56-46. Bo Sortwell scored 18 and Ed Flory scored 22.

Feb 17, 1951- The Thayer girls, who won the Western Division of the King Philip League, played the KPL Eastern Division champion, Petersham. The teams met in a playoff game in Turners Falls on a Saturday. The game ended in a tie and the teams were named co-champions with each team holding the trophy for six months. Ken Arminio coached the Thayer girls.

Feb 20, 1968-Thayer boys lost at Antrim 79-77. Bill Davies scored 39 points for Antrim, including a game winning buzzer beater. Larry Zabielski scored 19 for Thayer. This was the Thayer boys only loss of the regular season. The loss made their record 16-1. The team was coached by Tony Santos.

Feb 22, 1968-The Thayer boys beat Marlborough in Winchester 81-76. Larry Zabielski scored 31 points and Chuck Royce scored 22. Their final record for the season was 17-1, and they headed for the Class S tournament.

Feb 25, 1931-Thayer boys beat Brattleboro 30-29. Roger Dubriske started in the place of the injured Bill Jones and scored 20 of the teams 30 points. Alec Baronoski scored the game winner on a free throw with five seconds left in the game. In a preliminary game, Thayer 2nd's beat Hinsdale 29-13. Felch, Willard, and Read did all of the scoring for Thayer in the preliminary.
